There is a MoNsTeR in the mix.....

My Sassy Pants has been creating IMMA HOOT owl pillows for about 6 weeks now. It is so fun to come up with new patterns to mix and match to make each pillow it's own character. My daughter Lexie decided she wanted her own version of the IMMA HOOT pillow. So, we created a zebra/tie dyed version that definitely makes the eyes dance, wacky patterns....I love it!
Bella, while she loves the IMMA HOOT pillow, wanted a more "tomboy" approach to a snuggly pillow. She asked for a monster....ta da~ The MoNsTeR {orange dude with the yellow hair} was born.

Bella and I have "discovered" that if you have MoNsTeR pillow on your bed, there cannot possibly be monsters UNDER your bed.

My Sassy Pants is in the process of creating a cute little short story that will pair with the MoNsTeR pillow. What should his name be???

The Booth The Booth The Booth is on FIRE.....

I finally decided to expand my booth space and offer more options, designs and accessories for My Sassy Pants patrons. It has been a wonderful experience and a total blast! The expansion gave me more of a presence in the store, so as a result, my business has doubled. I feel so blessed and I truly love creating, sewing and hand crafting new items for my family, friends and customers. Hmm, wonder what is up my sleeve for Spring?

Heirloom Design

I had a customer bring me her Grandmother's Tea Towels and ask me to create something for her daughter with them. I was a little nervous (well, I was crazy nervous) about cutting up a family heirloom.

The apron part of the dress and the lining of the dress was created from one Tea Towel, the rest is designer fabric.
What is really cute about this dress is that my customer is Dutch, and the Tea towel I chose was of a little dutch girl....so, both Mom and Daughter were thrilled with their custom European Tea dress.

Hmmm, maybe I will have to make a trip to Canton for some tea towels :~) Anybody wanna take a road trip?

Put a LID on it!

After months of selling ~~~magnetic~~~ bottle cap pendants, I have finally gotten around to photographing some of them to show you. I am hoping that after next week, I will get them posted in my Etsy Shop.

I use recycled bottle caps, non toxic glue and glazes, rare earth magnets and the cords are stretchy and super duper comfy (also a green product). So, all in all, I am making earth happier, and sassy gals more fashionable.

If you have to have a bottle cap pendant, because you are like me and want it now, I understand. Contact me and I will work something out just for YOU!

My job rocks!

The new "Wild About Pink" necklace is definitely Texas inspired....Hot Pink and Leopard, what could be more Texas Girl than that? Ok, maybe big hair...
Anyhow. The leopard pendant can be strung on any color of beads, your choice...So, get wild with your imagination and look Sassy doing it!

Boo-T-Ful

Anyone tired of the same old Target pumpkin Tshirt? The pumpkin shirt has frequented our wardrobes since the girls were 1 year old. This year, I wanted to put my own twist on it and give it a My Sassy Pants makeover....I added the new wide leg ruffle pant with it (my new favorite). They got loads of Ooohs and Aaahhhs at school....Boo-T-Ful...

This is last years banner that I made with Scrapbooking supplies. It is super easy, the backing is made with adhesive foam sheets. I covered them with scrapbook paper and used chipboard letters to create the word "Spooky", then embellished with ribbons, stickers and papers. I aged the edges with inks. Ta-da, a keepsake banner that is durable, cheap and a festive (not at all creepy) addition to Halloween decor.

Rainy day craft.....We went off to Michaels to find something fun and creative to do....the girls wanted to make finger puppets. These came in a foam kit and turned out super cute. They kind of look like they are doing a hip hop dance. Next year, write a Halloween Rap Song! :~)

New Space DOWNTOWN

Here is the new My Sassy Pants space in downtown San Antonio, across the street from The Alamo...
The store opens today! I've been working day and night for 2 weeks to get it stocked. As you can tell, I still have plenty of room to add some more goods. So, I guess I need to get to work on some new ideas, eh? I have really enjoyed this journey and feel very blessed to have the support and great customers that I have encountered as a result. So, thank you!!!

Peace of Work.

My daughter has been asking me for months to teach her how to sew. I haven't had much free time to do this, but last week, I took the time to teach her a few basics. She had such a blast and kept asking me to let her sew more, more, more. (Oh, more more more just delivered me a Billy Idol flashback)....So, I let her piece fabrics together and create her own collage. She absolutely loved sewing...She even asked for a small sewing machine for herself (a girl after my heart, as if she doesn't already have it!)

Today, I decided to make something with her "Peace" of artwork, so check it out.

My daughter inspired me. SO, I will be offering patchwork crosses and peace signs on the website VERY SOON. I just have a few more details and I will let you know when it is up and running...

Some New STUFF

Ok, so besides having a C R A Z Y busy holiday season with My Sassy Pants Boutique, I was able to sneak in a little fun. My friend Amy and I went on an adventure to get some, well, Sassy photographs of some of my new designs. It was hilarious, fun, adventurous and well, a total blast. I love Amy's personality and her talent, yeah, that is just the frosting on that sweet lil cupcake.

A funny sidenote: (but don't tell her I told ya)
Amy and I are REALLY close friends. On the very first shot, my shirt was snug, but my jeans were even snugger (that is a word only in Texas), so, my tootsie roll was hanging loose. Amy said, in her most friendly way "here, let me tuck in your fat"..... We were both ROLLING laughing. Hey, I love an honest friend, especially one with a serious editing program (wink wink)

Here are the results and the place to get them Sassy tops (and where to find Amy, in case you aren't already stalking her blog).....

Find these goods here: My ETSY store... (psst!) I can make any of these designs on a child's shirt too!

Thank you Amy DeYoung for the rockin' photography and for making it SO MUCH F-U-N !!!!

They call me Kathy Lee

That's right, you heard it correctly, my family is calling me names.
It is true, I did have them cutting fabric, one kid was bringing it to me via scooter (in the house), I was sewing and the other kid was cutting strings, but I paid em....

I wash their clothes, make their meals, clean this house, drive them everywhere, wake up at night with them, comfort them, love them...who's running who now, huh?
Anyhow, I have 3 more shows and I am done for this season. After that, and the laundry and the Christmas shopping, I PROMISE, I will blog about something more interesting than sweat shops!
LOVE,
